The shooting on Sunday, February 8 on Nina Jones Crescent, Chisholm saw unknown offenders threaten residents by shooting at an empty car.
The resident heard a noise about 1.45am on the Sunday morning but hadn't gone outside to find out what it was, police said.
Detectives later found the car had been peppered by up to seven shots.
Police believe two men seen in a dark car in the week leading up to the shooting may be able to assist with the investigation.
One of the men is described as fit, heavily tattooed, with olive skin, and a shaved head, according to police.
The shooting was one of five within 10 days in Canberra in early February, some of which have been linked to outlaw motorcycle gang activity.
Any witnesses or anyone with information on the men is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
