While his Ginninderra teammates could be forgiven for playing the rain card this weekend, fast bowler Cameron Suidgeest is preparing to put his name up in lights.

The second day of Cricket ACT's opening Douglas Cup fixtures looks almost certain to be a write-off as Canberra braces for up to 60 millimetres of rain on Saturday.
If two-day games are washed out they will finish in a draw, and 25-year-old Suidgeest will turn his attention to playing for the ACT in the final round of the Sydney Twenty20 Cup on Sunday.
Aiden Blizzard will join the ACT side for his final hit-out ahead of the Big Bash League against Penrith at Howell Oval on Sunday.
Representative honours are quickly becoming the norm for Suidgeest, who on Wednesday was named in the NSW Country side for the Australian Country Championship.
"It's one after the other it feels like. I've been pretty busy over the last month or two, trying to jump out of one team and into the next," Suidgeest said.
"It's been a bit of a case of switching from team to team from week to week which is different. It throws me back to junior days really, there's been a lot going so I've been busy."
Suidgeest was so desperate to hold his Bush Blues spot he raced from a Futures League fixture in Perth to the Illawarra to play in the NSW Country championships.
He ended up playing seven days of cricket in nine days but it worked wonders when NSW Country selectors came calling.
"I was pretty wary that the body might not have gotten through that but I'm feeling alright. It was tough but I guess was up to it because I've gotten through to the other side," Suidgeest said.
"Two seasons ago I played all six games in the Futures League for the Comets. Then I went over the England and my body just wasn't quite up to three seasons straight.
"I only played one game last season so it was a big goal of mine to get back in and play every game this season and see where that took me from there.
"Hopefully I can hold my spot for the next three games after Christmas and keep trying to take as many wickets there as I can and put my name up in front of whoever might be watching."
North Canberra-Gungahlin scored 213 in their clash with Ginninderra and the bowlers did some early damage to leave the Tigers at 1-5.
But a draw looks a foregone conclusion should the heavens open above Kippax Enclosed Oval.
A ton to Eastlake's Adam Tett (143) has the Demons sitting pretty at 9-339 against Weston Creek Molonglo, while Tuggeranong's clash with an ANU outfit high on confidence is evenly poised.
Queanbeyan blasted its way to an imposing 353-run lead on day one against Wests-UC at Freebody Oval thanks to centuries to Dean Solway (116) and Vele Dukoski (135), but that's likely the way it will stay.
