Bell bottom jeans and sequins are making a comeback in Dubbo. The Wongarbon Branch of the CWA has partnered with the Cavalcade of History and Fashion to present an afternoon tea and a themed presentation from the 1970s. The audience will be given the opportunity to get a close-up look of the fashion of the era while hearing about the women who wore the pieces and the kind of lives they led. READ ALSO: Branch president Marjorie Blatch said it was a fabulous opportunity for history buffs, fashionistas and anyone who enjoys learning about days gone by. "Come out to the village and see what your mum's used to wear," she said. Ms Blatch said the afternoon tea and presentation was the major fundraising event for the Wongarbon CWA branch, with all money raised going to those doing it tough. "The CWA have been busy in recent years with the drought," she said. "The CWA began 99 years ago to promote better conditions for women and their families in rural communities, and we're still doing that." The 70s fashion afternoon tea will be held at the Wongarbon Community Hall at 2pm on June 12. Ms Blatch said bookings were essential as due to COVID seating was limited. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $20 for a concession. People are also encouraged to wear a 70s outfit to win a prize. To book a ticket contact Ms Blatch on 0427 669 104 or Kathie Carolan on 0429 850 019.
