The accused, 30, entered the pleas in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday to charges of assault and property damage.
The defendant allegedly assaulted a nurse - causing cuts and bruises to the staff member - in the hospital's adult mental health unit in September.
The defendant applied for bail on Friday, however, the application was opposed by the prosecution due to risk of reoffending and likelihood of failing to reappear.
Special Magistrate Margaret Hunter refused the bail application, but asked the defence to collect further information on a mental health plan for the accused.
The matter will reappear for bail hearing next week.
