A man who was forced to spend the night at sea after the engine failed on his boat has been rescued.

The man had taken his boat out on the water near Noosa about 3.30pm on Sunday but was left stranded after the boat's engine lost power, according to rescuers.
About 1pm on Monday RACQ LifeFlight joined the search for the boat.
"We first searched Noosa headland and as we were tracking towards Double Island Point, we located the vessel," pilot Andrew Caton said.
The chopper guided the volunteer coastguard and a lifeguard on a jet ski to the vessel.
The man had been stranded in the ocean for nearly 24 hours.
Rescuers reported he was very hungry but otherwise in good health.
Earlier on Monday, the helicopter performed another rescue on the Sunshine Coast after a man was crushed by a 300-kilogram tree.
He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with chest injuries.
