The man and his primary school-aged son were rescued about 2pm with no injuries at Mossman Gorge, almost 80 kilometres north of Cairns.
Fewer than 24 hours earlier, four people were rescued from the gorge.
A man and woman in their 40s along with a male teenager and a boy were swept away just after 4.15pm on Thursday.
Swift-water rescue crews pulled the four people back to dry land after they were stranded on two rocks when they were swept away by the strong current.
They were assessed by paramedics but were unharmed and rescue teams left the scene by 6.45pm.
