An Anglican church on the Gold Coast has posted an unintentionally lewd message on its roadsign sign, raising some eyebrows from passers-by.

"Forgiveness is swallowing when you would rather spit," the sign reads outside the Surfers Paradise Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, on Salerno Street at the Isle of Capri.
Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek shared a photo of the sign on Twitter, saying it was 'church signs done differently'.
A spokeswoman for the church said the senior minister, Mike Uptin, put the sign up yesterday but he was not available to speak to the media as it was his day off.
She said the sign's meaning was to "swallow your words and think before you say anything", and the sign was usually changed once a week but it might be changed tomorrow.
Church signs have been used before in Australia to post controversial messages, with the Gosford Anglican church in New South Wales famed for its highly political messages.
However, it's not clear if the Surfers Paradise church was aware of the questionable meaning behind its well-intentioned sign.
