Triple M has lost top spot for Brisbane breakfast radio to Nova 106.9 in the first listener survey for the new year, losing the 3.1 per cent lead it held at the end of last year.

The two rivals are tied for top spot in the overall weekday ratings, from 5.30am to midnight, but Nova has a healthy lead on Triple M on weekends, so comes out number one across the seven days.
Nova and Triple M hold 13 per cent of the overall weekday market share, with Hit105 and 97.3FM behind them, as was the case at the end of 2018, but 4KQ has grown 0.8 per cent to claim fifth.
However, Nova holds a 1.9 per cent lead over Triple M on top of the overall weekend ratings, also from 5.30am to midnight, with 4KQ in third followed by 97.3FM and Triple J.
For the breakfast time slot, a surge in 4KQ listeners saw the station jump into fourth and overtake ABC Brisbane, which slid from second spot at the end of last year to fifth.
Nova's Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie show had a 2.9 per cent surge to 12.9 per cent and took bragging rights, while Triple M's The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody lost 2.4 per cent and slid into second with 11.7. Broadcaster Lawrence "The Moonman" Mooney left the Triple M show late in 2018.
ABC Brisbane's Craig Zonca and Loretta Ryan, who replaced previous co-host Rebecca Levingston this year, lost only 0.1 per cent listenership but dropped to fifth because of their rivals' strong start.
In the Drive time slot, Nova's Kate, Tim & Marty strengthened their hold on top spot, jumping 1.4 percentage points to 16.2 per cent, Triple M leapfrogged Hit105 into second and 97.3 remained fourth with 10.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, ABC Brisbane's Steve Austin lost 2.3 per cent of the market share but remained seventh and Triple J dropped to 8.2 per cent, a difference of 1.9 per cent compared to last year.
