The parents of two brothers pulled unconscious from a backyard pool north of Brisbane have pleaded for privacy as the children cling to life in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the near-drownings in Morayfield about 4.30pm on Monday involving the children, aged 16 months and 2½ years.
On Tuesday morning, they remained in critical condition in the Queensland Children's Hospital intensive care unit in Brisbane.
"We would like to thank everyone who has helped and cared for our boys, including the police, emergency services and the hospital teams," the family said in a statement.
"We ask the media to please respect our family’s privacy during this difficult time so we can focus on our sons. We will not be providing any further comment."
Ten Queensland Ambulance Service units responded to the incident in Michael Avenue, including specialist critical care paramedics, the High Acuity Response Unit and numerous ambulances.
One of the boys was rushed to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition with the High Acuity Response Unit aboard.
The second boy was rushed to Caboolture Hospital in a critical condition with a critical care paramedic aboard.
A Queensland Children's Hospital spokesman said the second child was later transferred from Caboolture Hospital to QCH.
