The event will now span five days and will also welcome QMusic as its new producer.
The music, arts and theatre event has been running since 1997 and attracts more than 65,000 people.
Lord mayor Graham Quirk said QMusic would deliver even more to see and do at the festival.
“This year’s Fiesta will include a range of free and ticketed events across the Fortitude Valley precinct, with a number of local venues, laneways and shops all involved, as well as exciting outdoor performances, theatre and art installations,” he said.
“Highlights of the new five-day Fiesta format include a ground-breaking visual arts showcase with building lighting, projection mapping, installations and décor.
“The event will also feature a themed performance stage in Brunswick Street Mall and a special program of active events as part of Activity weekend.”
Valley Fiesta will be held from August 29 to September 2.
