Hewitt was perfect between the pipes as the Canberra Brave completed the first shutout in club history with a heated 5-0 over the Melbourne Ice at the Phillip Swimming and Ice Skating Centre on Saturday.
The Brave backed it up with a comprehensive 4-1 win over the Ice on Sunday to move five points clear at the top of the AIHL ladder with the Perth Thunder nipping at their heels.
Hewitt has been a revelation since joining the Brave this season, a move the 25-year-old puts down to an email from Brave head coach Rob Starke.
The Canadian served as a back-up goaltender for the NHL's Vancouver Canucks for one night and is ranked as the number one netminder by the AIHL.
Back-to-back wins are a massive boost for a Brave outfit heading into a two-week break with the AIHL All-Star game taking place in Adelaide this weekend.
Canberra return to action when they face the Adelaide Adrenaline at the Adelaide Ice Arena on June 16.
