It was decided Clark, a former Canberra Racing chief financial officer, was the best fit for the organisation after the departure of long-time boss Peter Stubbs in October.
"I am extremely proud to be appointed as CEO of the Canberra Racing Club, a club I am so passionate about. I look forward to working with my team to continue the development of both the Canberra Racing Club and ACT racing industry as a whole," Clark said.
Canberra Racing Club Chairman Ian Mackay said: "We are delighted that Andrew has accepted the role. He has the required skills, energy and passion to lead thoroughbred racing in Canberra into a bright new future.
"He and his team have a proven track record that will ensure the club capitalises on the opportunities ahead to support and develop the ACT racing industry."
