A 66-year-old man is fighting for life in a Queensland hospital after he was hit by a bobcat at a private residence in the Darling Downs.

Paramedics were called to a home at Greenmount, about 30 kilometres from Toowoomba, just after 11am on Friday.
An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue spokeswoman said the man had been doing mechanical work on a bobcat, when it fell from elevated stabilising tracks and landed on him.
QAS Senior Operations Supervisor Stephen Johns said the bobcat had fallen on the man from "some height".
"A 66-year-old man had been hit by a bobcat that had fallen from some tracks that he was working on," he said.
"He's been treated on scene by paramedics who were backed up by a critical-care paramedic and the Toowoomba rescue helicopter."
The man was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital by road in a critical condition with significant leg injuries and chest and abdominal injuries.
