The body of a young woman has been found on Dicky Beach at the Sunshine Coast by an off-duty lifesaver.

The victim was believed to be aged in her early to mid-20s and police believe she might have drowned. She was found wearing a two-piece swimsuit.

The lifesaver made a triple-zero call just after 5am and the body had been removed from the sand by 7.30am.
Police were notifying the woman's family.
Officers declared the area a crime scene as standard practice.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
