A load of human faeces that spilled from a truck blocked a Toowoomba road for several hours on Tuesday.

"A truck has had a little 'accident', dropping a load on Taylor Street," Queensland police tweeted.

The spillage happened about 7.30am, with the clean-up operation still going more than three hours later.
A police service spokesman said the load was human faeces.
"Traffic might be a little constipated, please seek an alternative route," a police tweet said.
"The Forensic Crash Unit is looking for skid marks #Poowoomba."
