Five fire crews were on scene to free two people who were both trapped inside their cars.
Two rescue helicopters airlifted one patient in their 20s to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and another aged in their 70s, to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at an intersection on Gatton-Clifton Road just before 4pm.
The police crash investigation unit was on scene.
The aeromedical crew had just left a joint press conference with Queensland Police, highlighting the importance of road safety ahead of the holiday period, when they were tasked to the crash.
