And it would be fair to say more than a few of them live in Brisbane's eastern riverside suburbs, which boast the state's highest mean incomes.
The Australian Taxation Office has released a report analysing 16 million income tax returns for 13.5 million people, almost a million companies, superannuation funds, partnerships and trusts for the 2015-16 financial year.
In Queensland, the profession with the highest income was surgeon, with an average taxable income of $439,039.
Anaesthetists, internal medicine specialists, psychiatrists, other medical practitioners, medical practitioners - type not specified and judicial and other legal professionals filled out the other top spots in Queensland.
Brisbane's 4007 postcode, covering Ascot, Hamilton and Hamilton Central was the highest in Queensland, with an average taxable income of $101,505.
The next wealthiest postcode was 4171, covering Balmoral, Bulimba and Hawthorne, with an average taxable income of $99,886.
In Queensland, postcode 4732, including Muttaburra and Tablederry in central-west Queensland, had the the lowest average income of $18,291.
Just fewer than one-third of Queenslanders claimed a deduction for a charitable gift or donation, with an average gift of $463.
In total, Australians reported donating $2.8 billion.
The ACT was the most generous territory, with 41 per cent of residents claiming a deduction, followed by 37 per cent of Victorians and 36 per cent of Northern Territorians.
Across the nation, the postcode with the highest average taxable income of $192,500 was Sydney's 2027, which covered Darling Point, Edgecliff, HMAS Rushcutter and Point Piper.
NSW was also home to the lowest earning area.
Postcode 2387, covering Bulyeroi and Rowena in far north east NSW, had an average taxable income of about $12,000.
Out of almost 1200 occupations recorded, there were fewer than 100 jobs where women had an average taxable income higher than men.
This included receptionist, school teacher, beautician and goat farmer.
Across Australia, the top earners were surgeons, anaesthetists, internal medicine specialists, financial dealers, psychiatrists, other medical practitioners and judicial and other legal professionals.
