Blues captain-coach Terry Campese was after an attitude adjustment and he got it as the Blues bounced back from a shock loss to thrash the Belconnen Sharks 56-6 at O'Connor Oval on Saturday.

But more pleasing was the Blues banding together to pay tribute to a great supporter of the club in Te Paeru Te Ariki Taneao Kiritakau, the mother of the Ahosivi brothers, who passed away last week.

"Some of our great clubmen that have been here for many years, the four brothers, the Ahosivi brothers [Liuaki, Sione, Dylan and Dave], lost their mum on Monday," Campese said.

"It was just great to see the boys play for the boys that have given so much for the Blues. They're there every year and they are great supporters of the club. It’s just great to see the boys respond and play for their family as well.

"Dave hasn’t played for a few years but he is at every single match and supports the boys like crazy so it was great to see the boys pay their respects and play how they did to say thanks to those guys.

"They lost a beautiful woman in their mother, who was a great supporter as well. It was good for the boys to support them."

Donning black armbands, Blues shot out of the blocks and took a 28-0 lead into the break, putting a horror 40-0 defeat at the hands of West Belconnen in round two behind them.

They did it with 15 men for the best part of an hour after key forwards Ilaisa Ngata and Aisea Taholo went off with injuries.

In a sign of the club's rediscovered attitude the pair wanted to go back on, but Campese told them to ice up and get ready for next week as Jake Wheeler ran riot with four tries.

"I told the boys through the week and obviously before and after the game that losing on attitude is probably the worst loss you can get," Campese said.

"We were just disappointed from last week because I thought it was an attitude loss really and they’re the ones that hurt you. The boys definitely took that challenge up and changed the way they approach the game.

"After the game I said to the boys that we were up by 40-odd points and we were sprinting the corners trying to save tries, and last week we weren’t doing that.

"That’s the most pleasing thing, it’s just great how they responded."

Meanwhile, the Tuggeranong Bushrangers continued their winning ways with a 26-16 triumph over the Goulburn Bulldogs at Goulburn Arena.

The round wraps up when the Woden Valley Rams host the Yass Magpies at Phillip Oval and the West Belconnen Warriors take on the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at Kippax Oval on Sunday.
