Palace officials say the Duchess of Cornwall “thoroughly enjoyed” the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony after some accused her of looking bored during the evening.

Images of Prince Charles and Camilla watching the ceremony flooded social media on Wednesday night, with some noting the royal guests looked unimpressed.
Clarence House, the royal residence of Camilla and Prince Charles, released a brief statement saying the pair “thoroughly enjoyed” the ceremony.
“They found it entertaining and moving particularly the Indigenous musical performances and the smoking ceremony,” the statement read.
On Thursday, Commonwealth Games Federation president Louise Martin put Camilla’s mood down to exhaustion.
“She’d just got off the plane in the morning, there was a full set of duty right through, and the only time she got a break was when she sat in the car from Brisbane down to here,” she said.
“When you’re back to back like that, coming off a long, long flight … she really wanted to go to sleep.”
Camilla seemed to overcome her tired state on Thursday, joining the Prime Minister’s wife Lucy Turnbull in a scratch game of table tennis at the Commonwealth Games athlete’s village.
The Duchess of Cornwall will visit King George Square on Friday to meet with charity organisations before having morning tea with attendees of the Women of the World Festival and wrapping up the day with a reception at Government House.
