Australian Electoral Commission returns, released on Thursday, show Ms Trad donated $38,000 to Queensland Labor.
Ms Trad declared 14 individual donations over 2016-17, 13 of them donations of $1000, with one donation of $25,000.
Ever since she was first elected in South Brisbane in 2012 she had made "regular donations" into her local campaign's account, she said.
"I earn a good wage and I should contribute to my own re-election campaign," Ms Trad told reporters on Friday.
John and Peter O'Shea, directors of retirement village company TriCare, were the two largest individual donors to the LNP, both declaring $35,000.
Former LNP state MP Tarnya Smith, who lost her seat of Mount Ommaney at the 2017 election, gave $15,000 to the LNP.
Labor candidates and politicians were more likely to donate to their own party, including Kerry Shine ($11,203), Leanne Donaldson ($7910), Mick de Brenni ($2000), Peter Russo ($1760), Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk ($1647), Linus Power ($1100) and Brittany Lauga ($1000).
The LNP declared a total of $11.72 million in receipts, while Queensland Labor had $7.24 million in receipts.
Labor Holdings, an investment fund set up by the Labor Party in the 1980s, contributed $611,019 to Queensland Labor, according to the party's disclosure return.
Unsurprisingly, unions were the biggest backers of Queensland Labor, including United Voice's Queensland branch, the Shop Distributive and Allied Employees Association and the Australian Workers' Union of Employees Queensland.
The LNP reported it received $3.26 million from its federal branch and $74,424 from Marlucci Pty Ltd.
Professional services company KPMG hedged its bets, donating $37,299 to Queensland Labor and $17,500 to the LNP.
Infrastructure investment business Plenary Group Holdings was also bipartisan in its donations, giving $22,000 to Queensland Labor and $17,600 to the LNP.
The Queensland Greens had $1.63 million in receipts, Pauline Hanson's One Nation had $2.22 million and Katter's Australian Party $515,191.
Family First Party Queensland, which has since been deregistered, had $103,987 in receipts.
Love Australia or Leave, founded by Queenslander Kim Vuga, had $13,437 in receipts.
Groups were also required to declare political spending, such as on printing materials, political advertising or conducting polling on voting intention.
The biggest spending was from ACA Low Emissions Technologies ($3.58 million), the Minerals Council of Australia ($1.3 million), the Australian Education Union ($894,372), Australian Council of Trade Unions ($888,941) and GetUp ($821,093).
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was the highest political donor in Australia with $1.75 million donated to his party last financial year.
