The extreme weather predicted over the weekend has meant a number of events have been cancelled, but the Christmas in the City celebrations are going ahead.

Carnival rides, sideshow alley and food markets will take over Garema Place and City Walk from Friday night and over the weekend, and organisers In The City Canberra said it's going ahead rain, hail or shine.
"The thing about the city is that there's lots of places to get undercover - we're not in a park or a paddock. The CBD's got a lot of places to hide from the rain," said In The City Canberra CEO Jane Easthope
"If it looks like there's going to be storms, go and do your Christmas shopping and pop back when they finish. And there's this big undercover dining area here which looks sensational at night with all the lights."
Food stalls include Bentspoke Beer, A-Dough Me, Krofne Donuts, Via Dolce, Cannoli brothers, Le Petit Breton, Kusina, Capital Woodfire Pizza, Tikka Stand, Harmonie German Club. There will also be fairy lights, roving elves and Christmas carols.
The planned RSPCA ACT 12 Barks of Christmas in Glebe Park, the Crace Christmas Carnival and the Eco Elves Night Market at the Canberra Environment Centre have all been postponed or cancelled due to the weather warnings.
Street food festival The Commons in Commonwealth Park is going ahead on Friday night, and organisers said they will make a call on the day for the weekend openings and announce the decision on Facebook.
