The Sydney Sixers have signed the daughter of ex-NSW premier Morris Iemma to a one-year contract ahead of the forthcoming Big Bash season.

"That's going to do so much for my cricket in terms of developing my skills and also my professionalism," Iemma said.
"Now that cricket is becoming a professional sport, being around those types of girls and seeing how they conduct themselves both on and off the field is going to be very important for me to see that and absorb that and learn from them.
"Both with cricket but also what they do and how they conduct themselves off the field, their training or their gym programs or even as people."
Iemma describes herself as a technically sound opening batter who bowls a bit of part-time off spin for club side Campbelltown-Camden Ghosts.
And she's confident her steady approach is transferable to the shortest form of the game, as she demonstrated at last year's under-18s national championship where she scored a T20 century en route to being named player of the tournament.
"I'm a bit old fashioned, especially when I bat I'm very technique based, trying to get the best technique possible and then trying to expand your game and your shots from there," Iemma said.
"It's more just trying to be a bit quicker in how you score your runs, not taking up as many balls. Just stepping up the intensity a little bit, just looking for singles here and there, or running a bit harder and if you get the bad ones, just making sure that you really cash in and put it away to make sure you really maximise the run scoring.
"I've been working on a couple of big shots as well so hopefully they're coming along nicely and I'll be able to put it in. Still with the big shots, it's all about getting the technique right and trying to minimise the risks involved in trying to hit a ball for six."
