Davies won August's Country Championship by two shots after a thrilling finish at Goulburn Golf Club to book a spot in the leading amateur event.

Davis laughed he "hated golf" growing up, playing baseball for nine years before he was eventually lured to the fairway when his family moved back to Canberra from Washington DC.
The Gungahlin Lakes member is playing off plus-one as he launches a raid on the coveted NSW Open title at the Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club.
He will open his campaign when he tees off in round one alongside New South Welshman Neven Basic and Victoria's Jack Wilson at 12.05pm Thursday.
It's the next step in a whirlwind journey with Davies eyeing the professional circuit when he completes a traineeship under Murray Blair beginning next year.
