Canberra players make up the bulk of the ACT/Southern squad, with ACT coach Kyle Piper urging his side to make the most of the opportunity with a NSW Country berth on the line.
ANU star Ben Mitchell is no stranger to the NSW Country scene and he'll captain ACT/Southern against the Riverina at Shellharbour's Howard Fowles Oval in the tournament opener.
"This competition provides an opportunity for players to test themselves against some challenging opponents," Piper said.
"It is a great experience for some of our players to be challenged against seasoned country cricketers.
"As a group, we are working towards competing in each and every moment and every opportunity we may get. Good players compete sometimes, great players compete all the time.
"We never know when our opportunity may come, that is irrelevant, it is our job to be ready to grab that opportunity when it arises."
The NSW Country championships are split into two pools, with the winner of each to meet in the grand final at Bowral's Bradman Oval on November 26.
A NSW Country side will be chosen to to compete at the Australian Country Championships in Geraldton, Western Australia, from 5th to the 13th January 2018.
