Speaking on SEN radio, head of football Wayne Campbell said improvement across the board was necessary at the club, but the Giants don't plan on bringing in any more competition veterans.
"I don't think we'll be looking for any more experienced players, we'll go to the draft," Campbell said.
"We topped up a little bit at the end of last year and I think that helped us out because we had so many injuries across the board.
Campbell has also pre-emptively hosed down any trade talk around backman Adam Tomlinson, who was the interest of several Melbourne clubs last year before signing a two-year contract extension in February.
Tomlinson reeled in a career-high 26 touches in Saturday's loss to Richmond, earning a vote in the AFLCA Gary Ayres award.
"I don't think there's been an off-season where Adam's name hasn't been ruled up for whatever reason," Campbell said.
"He's contracted and I think he was almost our best player on the weekend. We had some players who were reasonably consistent across the game but we're pretty happy with where Adam's at, at the moment."
Tomlinson told Fairfax Media before the finals that he was perfectly settled in Sydney.
"At the end of last year I was really happy to stay – I didn't look into anything because I was so happy up here," Tomlinson said.
"It's a totally different place to Melbourne and other places I've grown up in. To be able to drive to the beach whenever you want is a massive result for us."
