Investigators hold grave concerns for the 61-year-old man, who was last seen leaving Calvary Hospital a month ago.
A search and rescue operation is now underway in Bruce, with members of the AFP Specialist Response Group helping.
Police are also continuing in their appeal to members of the public for information on Mr Kahsai's disappearance.
Mr Kahsai is described as about 175 centimetres tall with a slim build and short grey hair, balding on top, and a grey beard.
He was wearing a blue and white shirt, blue jeans, sneakers and a blue cap when he was seen last on December 30.
Anyone who may have seen Mr Kahsai is urged to call police on 131 444.
