A Bob Brown-led convoy to stop Adani's Galilee Basin mine has been greeted with jeers by hundreds of pro-Adani supporters as it rolled into the coal-rich Queensland region.

The convoy of about 400 mine opponents received a hostile reception from some locals at the mining town of Clermont on Saturday afternoon.
"Mr Brown and 'Stop Adani' protesters, you may have travelled far and wide but you won't get food inside," said one sign outside a local venue.
Politicians spent the early afternoon rallying the "start Adani" group, with Matt Canavan, Clive Palmer, Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts turning out to support the coal industry.
Residents lined the main street and jeered as the convoy, comprising around 200 cars, arrived.
Prior to his arrival Mr Brown, the former Australian Greens leader, urged coal advocates to "use your God-given intelligence" to stop the "worsening climate emergency due to the burning of fossil fuels".
He told AAP the pro-Adani supporters threatened local restaurants, forcing them to cancel reservations for members of his convoy.
"There's an air of thuggery in the pro-Adani camp," he said.
Police redirected the convoy to an alternate road, away from the main street, in a bid to avoid violent clashes, he said.
"Some of them came up to us, surrounding cars and tearing off flags and stickers," he said.
Local publican Kel Applegate organised the rally in support of the Adani project, saying visitors would also struggle to find a beer after Clermont's three pubs agreed not to serve them.
"It's nothing personal but (the anti-Adani activists) are hypocrites," Mr Applegate told AAP.
"How do they think steel gets made, or their electric trains run? It doesn't come from solar panels or wind farms."
Mr Brown said Queenslanders were worried about the mine, contrary to perception.
"It's a complete fabrication that people in central Queensland aren't worried about this mine," he told AAP.
"I was braced for a hostile reception in Mackay and it turned out it was mega-friendly," he said.
State shadow mining minister Dale Last, also in Clermont, said residents were "very angry that this group's coming out here to tell them what they should and shouldn't be doing."
"I think these protesters will be left in no doubt they've walked into a hornet's nest in this country," he said.
"They're going to get a very, very hostile reception, I can assure you of that."
Adani Australia thanked its supporters in a tweet on Saturday: "Amazing turnout with hundreds in Mackay showing up to support the coal industry."
