The Victorian government has not ruled out electronic tracking devices to monitor people with intervention orders against them.

Speaking in the wake of the tragic death of 11-year-old Luke Batty, Community Services Minister Mary Wooldridge said it was feasible for people with intervention orders against them to wear bracelet or ankle monitors.
"It is feasible to do it. The question is how far you go on that, in relation to who would be crossing the bar to require those bracelets," she said.
"There are many, many thousands of intervention orders out there, and so we are not at the stage of saying we would have thousands of people with these bracelets on at any one time.
"We have already extended it from where it was previously ... there are always things we can look at but we do need to work out how far this goes"
Sex offenders on leave already wear the monitoring devices and the state government is also considering using them on intellectually disabled people with criminal records who are on leave from detention.
The bracelets track movements and alert authorities if the wearer breaches curfews or ventures into exclusion zones such as schools or playgrounds.
Ms Wooldridge said authorities had begun looking at intervention orders against parents with children known to child protection "to make sure they are safe".
