The Canberra product will be sidelined for six weeks after suffering the injury while fielding in last week's one-dayer against the Blues at the Gabba. Floros returned to Canberra on Monday and will spend a couple of weeks with his family before returning to Brisbane.
He was due to play for the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League, which starts on December 7.
''It would've been nice to get on the field and put on some better performances for them this year, but it's not to be,'' Floros said on Thursday.
''I had just started to get my spot back [for Queensland] and score some runs in grade cricket.
''After Christmas I'll have to try and work my way back into the team.''
Left-arm spinner Brad Ipson replaces Floros for Sunday's match, while Luke Pomersbach will make his debut for his new state in his first game since losing his Western Australian contract after a series of off-field incidents.
