Kyrgios and fellow Australian Andrew Harris powered to victory to beat the Czech Republic duo and No.7 seeds Adam Pavlasek and Vaclav Safranek 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 to take the French Open boys' doubles title at Roland Garros in Paris.

It was 17-year-old Kyrgios's break-through triumph and he hopes he can carry his form into the biggest event in tennis - Wimbledon - later this month.

''It was a great experience to win at a junior grand slam, the crowd was awesome and it was pretty packed out,'' Kyrgios told The Canberra Times from France.

''I knew from the start Andrew and I could win.

''But when we had match point I started to feel really, really nervous and I can't describe the feelings when we clinched it.

''I can't put it into words, we both just looked at each other and put our hands in the air.''

Kyrgios - the world No.27 in juniors and ranked 1410 as a professional - and Harris had to fight hard for their win.

After winning the first set, they trailed 5-1 in the decider before finally kicking into gear and feeding off a vocal crowd to secure the win in the third set super-tiebreak.

They celebrated with a simple meal at a local Chinese restaurant and despite leaving with the trophy, Kyrgios was ''back in the grind'' at the airport at 5.30am yesterday to fly to Munich for another tournament.

But while his tennis resume is growing, Kyrgios admitted he was still starstruck rubbing shoulders with the best players in the world.

The junior boys have separate change rooms to the men, but Kyrgios still gets the chance to meet his idols, including Roger Federer.

''I think I'm definitely improving and getting fitter and stronger,'' Kyrgios said.

''The senior guys have their own locker room, but Federer walked into ours a couple of times. When the top dogs walk in, everyone goes quiet and basically just stares at them until they leave then we go back to normal. I haven't really manned-up and had a chat yet, I'm not in the same league.''
