With an impressive line up of wardrobe choices and lack of louts usually associated with other horse racing events, the Polo in the City series continues to go from strength to strength out west.
The exclusive Paspaley Marquee (Perth's version of The Birdcage at Flemington) dished up a gourmet three course lunch for a select group of guests while Woodford Reserve bought a taste of the Kentucky Derby with bourbon cocktails.
The umbrellas, hand held fans and free flowing drinks came in handy for the crowd who were all watching from the sidelines as Team Veuve Clicquot defeated BDO in the final match, winning the coveted Paspaley Cup.
After they hung up their riding boots, the equestrians and elegantly dressed retired to The Aviary for an after party.
SPOTTED: AFL legend Billy Brownless, Australian Polo captain Glen Gilmore, broadcaster Basil Zempilas and wife Amy, Channel Seven reporters Blake Johnson and Mark Gibson, X Factor finalist Johnny Ruffo, entrepreneurs Malcolm and Bree Day, socialite Rhonda Wyllie, Channel Nine news presenters Greg Pearce and Angela Tsun, fashion designer Ruth Tarvydas and Western Force fullback Patrick Dellit.
SIPPED: The VIP Paspaley Marquee served Veuve Clicquot (served from 1.5 litre magnums) while guests of Woodford Reserve sipped bespoke bourbon cocktails.
SNACKED ON: Seated inside the Paspaley Marquee guests noshed on quail with fig infused mash, lobster tail tarts and tiers of macaroons.
SO GOOD: The WA polo talent including Hugo Fischer and Chloe Kiely getting a chance to show off in front of a home crowd and the national scouts.
SO NOT: Johnny Ruffo winning Fashions on the Field. A pair of bedazzled jeans belong in general admission at Ascot, not at the Sport of Kings.
