Canberra were denied the bronze medal with a shattering 59-50 loss to the Tasmanian Magpies at Melbourne's State Netball and Hockey Centre on Sunday.

The Giants held a four-point lead in the second-quarter but Tasmania converted consecutive turnovers to surge ahead by half-time.
The Magpies dominated the second half to comfortably claim third place, while Victorian Fury beat NSW Waratahs to secure the championship.
