Three alleged Islamic State supporters are in police custody following dramatic police raids on homes in Sydney's south-west on Tuesday morning.

The three men, aged 20, 23 and 30, are understood to have been planning a terror attack, but police stress that there was no imminent threat to the public.
"The NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) can confirm it is conducting operational activity in Sydney today," the police said in a statement to the Herald.
"There is no immediate threat to the safety of community as a result of this activity."
Members of the Australian Federal Police and NSW Police's JCTT raided homes in Canada Bay, Chester Hill, Greenacre, Green Valley, Ingleburn and Toongabbie.
It is understood the three men came to the investigators' attention because of what they were posting and discussing online.
No charges have been laid yet, but two of the men are in custody at Bankstown Police Station and the third is in custody in a different location.
