Queensland has categorically ruled out selling any public assets in the wake of reports the federal government plans to offer incentives to states to do so.

Treasurer Jackie Trad said the idea Canberra would reward states that sold assets to fund infrastructure projects was "deeply concerning".
"Scott Morrison can put as much money on the table as he likes, but we are not going to sell our energy assets and we are not going to sell our ports," she said on Tuesday.
"These belong to the people of Queensland and they expect us to keep our commitment and keep these assets in public hands."
Opposition leader Deb Frecklington said the LNP also had ruled out asset sales.
"The people of Queensland have spoken at the last two elections, and asset sales is off the agenda."
Asset sales are credited with bringing down the Bligh Labor government in 2012, while plans to reconsider the issue contributed to the Newman LNP government losing office in 2015.
