Police allege that the 35-year-old fled one of the houses after hearing sirens and being confronted by a resident.
During a search of the area, the man was allegedly found lying on the ground in a nearby backyard.
Police said knives and suspected stolen property was then discovered in a backpack the man had been seen carrying in CCTV footage.
The man was due to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday. He was charged with 11 offences including theft, trespass, unlawful possession of stolen property and possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse.
