The high school teacher spends evenings travelling between Goulburn, Sydney and Canberra in the pursuit to become a dual-international of the sports.
Economos, a national indoor-hockey player, picked up the footy two years ago and made her NSW Premiership debut with the Canterbury Bulldogs this year.
And now she's on the brink of being selected for next month's Prime Minister's XIII tour of Fiji.
"It's hectic but rewarding at the same time," Economos said.
"I wasn't expecting to be named in the [Prime Minister's XIII] because it's only my second year. I'm one of the fittest forwards so that always has its perks."
But as she prepares for next month's tour, she's also training for the inaugural Hockey One season.
Economos will join a host of Australian stars in the Chill squad with the likes of Kalindi Commerford, Edwina Bone and Naomi Evans set to wear the new moniker.

Hockey One will be played over a six-week home and away season with three home matches per club, which will always be male-female double-headers.
Canberra will open their season against the Brisbane Blaze at the Lyneham Hockey Centre on September 29.
Chill striker Meredith Bone said their opening matches against Brisbane and NSW Pride would be the toughest of the season.
"They both have really strong Hockeyroos outfits so they'll be the biggest tests," Bone said.
"It will give us information about where we're standing in the competition and then basically push through to the end of the season to make sure we finish in the top-four."
Former Hockeyroo Anna Flanagan will return to the capital to join the star-studded side. The two-time Commonwealth Games champion announced her international hockey retirement in February, but wasn't ready to call time on the domestic scene.
Flanagan had entertained the idea of turning out in the national league again after helping NSW to the Australian Hockey League title last year.
Bone hopes she'll provide some "inside scope" about their instate rivals, but also said she'll add some invaluable experience to the side.
"We'll always welcome her back to the ACT if she's happy to come back and have us but she also has international experience which can never be denied," Bone said.
"Anyone with international experience coming into the squad is going to help those younger players build their confidence heading into Hockey One."
Meanwhile, the Hockeyroos will begin their Olympic qualifying campaign in Queensland on Thursday.
Crookwell's Emily Chalker will captain the side while Edwina Bone and Commerford are also chasing Olympic goals.
