Just a short one hour drive from Canberra, Goulburn is the ideal destination for that short break or longer one. Spring is the perfect time to enjoy all that Australia's first inland city has to offer, from the picturesque gardens in Belmore Park or the banks of the Wollondilly River which is the perfect place for a family picnic.
What's on?
The 68th annual Goulburn Lilac City Festival is taking place October 4 to 7. It is Australia's longest continually run community festival. This year will see the return of the ever-popular street parade. On the weekend 18-20 October, the Historic Waterworks will host its much-loved annual Steampunk Victoriana Fair featuring markets stalls, an orchestra with opera singers, grand teapot racing and horse-and-carriage rides.
