Rose won the four-star event at Yarralumla Equestrian Park with Virgil. The two-time Olympic medalist will head to France to compete in a five-star competition in Pau in October.
Olympian Ross was the fastest rider around the 3.5km course but finished the event on her dressage score, coming in second by 2.5 penalties. She also won the two-star event.
Australia can qualify three athletes for the team event in Tokyo, and one for the individual event.
Athletes must have a consistent sub-30 score at four-star or place at five-star to be in contention for the Olympics.
