Vic club shooting co-accused 'hid gun'

Moussa Hamka is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder over the April shooting, which killed security guard Aaron Osmani and patron Richard Arow.

The gun used in the shooting was later found hidden in Hamka's bedroom, Melbourne Magistrates Court was told during a bail application on Monday.

It is not alleged Hamka was involved in the shooting, but the 32-calibre firearm was later found hidden in his bedroom, prosecutors told the court.

When questioned about the gun, Hamka told police he'd picked up what he thought was drugs or cash wrapped in a t-shirt from a Fawkner park several weeks after the shooting.

He was meant to wait for instructions to pass on the package to another person, but didn't hear anything more.

It was only then he unwrapped the t-shirt and realised he'd collected a gun, the court was told.

But prosecutors said Hamka couldn't provide any more information about the park or the sender of the encrypted text message, which he said he'd deleted.

Jacob Elliott, 18, and 22-year-old Allan Fares are both charged with two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder over the Love Machine shooting.

Elliott is the son of underworld figure Nabil Machine, whose daughter was ejected from Love Machine three or four weeks before the shooting, the court was earlier told.

Hamka was bailed by magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg on Monday and is due back in court on December 9.
