The 26-year-old will now remain in the French capital until June 2024.
Verratti, who joined the club from Pescara in 2012, is the most successful player in the history of PSG, winning 22 trophies.
He has six Ligue 1, five Coupe de la Ligue, four Coupe de France and seven Trophee des champions titles to his name.
"I think I'm coming to the most important moment of my career," he told PSG's official website.
"I feel really good here. I feel like I play for a team that has a very big project.
"For me, it's the main thing because I want to try to win as much as possible, and here we have this opportunity because we have a great team, we have a great coach. We can do great things together."
