Weston Creek Molonglo continued their dominance of Canberra cricket yesterday, thumping Queanbeyan by seven wickets to claim the Gallop Cup decider at Manuka Oval.
And the scary thing? They're only going to get better when former Big Bash League blaster Jono Dean returns to skipper them in the Twenty20 comp, which starts this week.
It was also a great weekend for the capital's women's teams.
Canberra United overcame two dodgy penalty calls to secure their first W-League road win in over two years in Newcastle, while WNBL champs Canberra Capitals continued their red-hot form with a classy win at home to Townsville.
Both teams are in the top four in the early stages of their season. Let's hope they stay there.
