An "indeterminate" test for one person had returned a "probable" positive result for the disease and it been previously added to the tally, but further testing showed they did not have coronavirus as of Sunday.
The territory now has 102 confirmed cases of the virus, compared with 103 on Saturday.
In a statement on Sunday, the ACT government said initially classifying the person as positive for coronavirus was part of its "precautionary approach".
"In cases where the clinical history and an indeterminate test result indicate they are more likely to be a case than not, the individual is classified as a confirmed case until further investigation and testing can provide a more definitive result," the statement said.
"Where further testing definitively determines the individual does not have COVID-19, the case is reclassified as a negative result."
Of the 102 people who had tested positive for coronavirus in the ACT as of Sunday, 67 people had recovered from the disease and been released from self-isolation.
Three coronavirus patients were in Canberra hospitals, while the remainder of cases were isolating at home with access to ACT Health support services.
Two people have died from coronavirus in the ACT.

The territory's acting chief health officer, Dr Vanessa Johnston, on Sunday thanked Canberrans for helping to "flatten the curve" of coronavirus.
But she warned the community against falling into the trap of becoming complacent.
"Please remain vigilant and stay home for the remainder of this Easter long weekend," she said.
"Do not travel to the coast or interstate or gather in large groups with family and friends.
"If you do need to go out for essential reasons, then complying with the rules on physical distancing and practicing good hand and respiratory hygiene are the most important tools in slowing the spread of COVID-19."
The ACT has returned 6159 negative tests for coronavirus.
