This Friday, May 22, tune in to find out how you could have the best volunteer job in the entire world.
The national zoom event, held as part of National Volunteer Week, gives people around the country the download on what it takes to raise a puppy that will go on to become a full-fledged Guide Dog and change the life of a person with blindness or low vision.
Starting at noon, it's hoped the online session will attract potential puppy-raisers, with the ACT in urgent need of 10 volunteers.
South Australia also is on the lookout for potential puppy-raisers.
Join Zoom, the puppy, online in his second public appearance, along with an all-star cast of the Guide Dogs volunteer community - and a get a behind-the-scenes look at a puppy nursery.
Despite everything going on in the world, Guide Dogs mobility instructor Ryan Jones said there are a few things that remain the same.
"Puppies are still entering this world full of life, bringing joy to all those they come across," Mr Jones said.
"We'll be bringing that joy into your living room along with a rundown of our puppy-raiser program.
"Who knows, you may be in a position to apply for the best volunteer job in the world!"
The puppy-raising event follows on from a successful live stream session to celebrate International Guide Dog Day.
There are already more than 1000 Australians who are helping Guide Dogs Australia raise and care for Guide Dog puppies, and although there is a waitlist in some states, Guide Dogs is always on the lookout for quality puppy-raisers, so now is a great time to consider if you are in a position to help out in the future.
