Inclement weather has forced all local rugby league games to be called off this weekend, but Gungahlin Bulls president Pat O'Sullivan is confident it won't be a common theme throughout the rest of the competitoin.

While local rugby venues at Nicholls and Griffith have been put under the microscope this week after recently being declared not fit to host games, O'Sullivan expected his club's home ground, Gungahlin Enclosed, would not suffer the same fate.
"As far as I know that ground is going to stay open for the rest of the season," O'Sullivan said.
"I don't see a reason why it would close, unless of course it keeps on raining. It sounds like this week they've closed the grounds because they're concerned about damaging their fields and the costs of making them good after that.
"I haven't heard anything about Gungahlin, as far as we're aware we're playing there."
Third-placed Gungahlin beat the Queanbeyan Blues on their home ground last weekend and were set to play Woden Valley Rams at Phillip Oval on Saturday.
That game was initially moved to the old Raiders headquarters in Bruce, before the entire round was called off completely meaning the Queanbeyan blues versus Raiders under-20s clash at Seiffert Oval will also not go ahead.
"I don't believe that it's more unsafe playing on a wet field than a dry field. A dry field's quicker, the game's quicker, and probably more than likely to have injuries in a quicker game where there's more contact, than there would be on a wet field," O'Sullivan said.
"I think it [a wet ground] slows the game down and you're possibly less likely to get injuries.
"You play in the wet, it's part of the game. We don't have any problem with playing on wet fields."
Four Canberra Raiders Cup clubs dropped out prior to the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the Bulls never considered pulling the pin.

"We have been doing it a little bit tough and we believed it'd be easier to keep on going, rather than starting a club again," O'Sullivan said.
"We thought it was extremely important to keep that momentum going, and at the end of the day, the people who run sporting organisations, their charter is to get people out onto the field.
"We want to compete we wanted our kids to have the opportunity to play. Winning's one part of it, but it's not so important as competing."
CRRL released a statement saying late Friday afternoon confirming this weekend's matches had been called off.
It read: "All CRRL Cup round five games have been cancelled this weekend due to inclement weather. It will be a washout round."
The Bulls' win last weekend was their first of the season.
Canberra's under-20s side remains unbeaten with four wins from four since joining the league.
