A man has been accused of using a chainsaw to slash a number of fuel pump hoses at a general store in sleepy southern Tasmania.

The 53-year-old has been charged with possessing a dangerous article in public and damaging property after allegedly severing the hoses on Thursday night at Middleton.
The incident follows the charging of two people from the same town this week over an apparent neighbourhood dispute involving a chainsaw.
A man, 59, was taken to hospital with serious arm injuries allegedly inflicted by a 60-year-old man wielding a chainsaw on Tuesday night.
He and a woman, 52, who police say crashed a car into the victim's shed, were charged with committing an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
There is no apparent link to the two chainsaw incidents.
