A pedestrian has been fatally struck by a bus in eastern Sydney's busy shopping precinct at Bondi Junction.

Emergency services were called to Grafton Street on Wednesday morning, following reports a woman in her 20s had been hit by a bus.
She died at the scene.
"The toughest thing is knowing that if a person is in a critical condition, it's our responsibility to do everything we can to provide the life-saving treatment they need," NSW Ambulance duty operations manager Inspector Nadia Tomlinson said in a statement.
"Our paramedics worked tirelessly to provide the best treatment for the patient, but despite all their efforts there was nothing they could do."
A crime scene has been established and will be examined by the crash investigation unit.
Grafton Street is closed between Newland and Grosvenor streets in both directions. Buses are running normal routes.
