An Adelaide driver's "custom" convertible has attracted attention for all the wrong reasons, with the unlicensed motorist being pulled over by police and the car towed.

The beaten-up and roofless Hyundai Excel caught the eye of officers when the occupants yelled at a patrol before running a red light at Glenelg just before 1am on Sunday.
When officers pulled over the unusual-looking car nearby they discovered the vehicle had undergone some modifications.
"Closer inspection of the Hyundai Excel revealed it was a standard sedan that the owner had cut the roof off to make into a convertible," police said in a statement.
"It also had considerable crash damage to the rear of the car."
Police also discovered the 25-year-old driver's licence had expired six years ago and he was currently on bail with orders not to drive.
The Adelaide man was charged with driving unlicensed, failing to stop at a red light, breach of bail and breach of vehicle standards.
He was granted bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on July 13.
The car was towed.
It was a busy night for Adelaide police, with another unlicensed driver arrested after a short pursuit at Maylands.
The 43-year-old driver allegedly failed to stop and when officers eventually caught up with him refused to give his details.
He was charged with driving dangerously to evade police, driving unlicensed, refusing name and address, resisting arrest and refusing a breath test.
His Mitsubishi Lancer was impounded and the man is due to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
