The side were on top of the competition's ladder last weekend on goal difference, until Wednesday when Canberra Croatia FC reclaimed first after beating Gungahlin United FC in their postponed round 14 fixture.
The 4-3 win puts the club three points ahead on the ladder, however, Belconnen will have one last chance in round 19, when the pair face off again, to even the points.
Until then, Day said the side can not afford to drop any points.
"We have to win every single game if we're going to challenge first spot, so every game now is a must win," she said.
"I think we need it and we need to be driven because if you are too far and away up top, which has happened in some seasons in the past, you can get a bit complacent, you sort of lose a little bit of motivation towards the end of the season.
"So it's definitely kept the motivation and the intensity high at training."

Belconnen's next challenge comes on Sunday, when they face Canberra United Academy at Hawker Football Centre.
United are coming off a loss to Croatia and two wins in previous weeks. Day said her side were fielding injuries, as they had done all season, but believed they were up for the occasion.
"The game against the Academy's always a good game, they're always really well coached and they're a very technical side, they'll run for days so it's a game we look forward to because everyone's trying to play football," Day said.
"We haven't had a full strength squad, the entire season. So we've still got a few that were missing for this weekend but, I mean we've had depth the entire season to deal with it, so we're pretty comfortable."
