Omicron milder, easing: South Africa study

The mortality rate during South Africa's Omicron surge dropped nearly 17 pc, a study has shown.

Doctors in one of the cities where Omicron was first identified say the surge driven by the new variant has been marked by less serious disease, with clear signs that case and hospital admission rates may soon decline.
