The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a sheep graziers warning in NSW, ACT and Victoria due to cold temperatures, rain and showers and southwesterly winds forecast for May 5 and 6.
Bureau meteorologist Jenny Sturrock said a cold front will bring rain to South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania by the afternoon of May 5 before it moves into NSW.
"After the front comes through we will see those minimum temperatures in particular plummet," she said.
"We are expecting as a result widespread frost across NSW, even parts of South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.
"That's one to watch out for particularly those with any agricultural needs over the course of the weekend - this will be the first of the season."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Snow is expected down to 600 metres in Tasmania and 800 metres in Victoria on May 6, and about 900 metres in NSW on May 7.
Canberra is looking a frosty low of -2 degrees on May 8.
The front will stir up the Tasman Sea from May 7 with big and unsettled waves "making it really dangerous for coastal activities", Ms Sturrock said.
